Thinking Higher, Digging Deeper...

Have you ever wondered why some churches preach there is no need to keep the law? Well, I will try to enlighten you to my understanding on the subject.

Preachers selectively read texts from the Bible that seems to prove his cause, when in actual fact they’re being deliberately dishonest. For example:

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. - Ephesians 2:8+9

This text is used to prove the righteousness by Faith doctrine – that is good, but some like to use this with Colossians 2:14 to say you do not need to obey the law of God. But that couldn’t be correct, because…

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? - Romans 6:1+2

Remember, sin is transgression of the law, therefore God expects us to be obedient to the law even though were not saved by it. Disobedience defeats the purpose of the Grace Jesus Christ gives us and the Faith we’ve chosen to have.

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works. – James 2:17+18

Is the Law of God a variable? Obviously not…

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, ‘Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Matthew 5:18+19

The law and the prophets [were] until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail. - Luke 16:17

Why then do people abide by unbiblical doctrine?

But in vain they do worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men. – Matthew 15:9

Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed [are] the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud [one] sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. - Revelation 14:12-14

The Righteous few at the end of time will be keeping the law; do you want to be a part of that group? Then you know what to do…

He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. - Revelation 22:11+12

You are either Righteous or wicked there is no in between…
